How To Lock In $75,000 Worth of 9.62% Treasury I Bonds

Only a few weeks remain for you to seize one of those possibilities that almost seems too good to be true.

Treasury I bonds, also known as Series I savings bonds, offer a 9.62% interest rate and are available for purchase.

You make a basic investment of $75,000 in these so-called I bonds in the following simple scenario.

Paul Schatz, president of Heritage Capital, asked, "Where else could you receive a 9% plus return on an investment that is backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government?"

However, the Treasury will alter the rate as effective November 1. Resetting it occurs every six months.

The new rate, according to many experts, will be approximately 6%.
