Rate reductions for workers' compensation insurance have been announced by the Delaware Department of Insurance and will take effect on December 1, 2022.
For people hurt on the job, workers' compensation insurance offers medical insurance and wage reimbursement.
In addition, the Department is offering financial assistance to businesses through its Workplace Safety Program, which strives to lower risk and provides participating businesses with insurance discounts.
Following six years of decreasing rates, the announcement is anticipated to coincide with a reversal of voluntary and residual market patterns
with the latter trend likely to result in a greater rate reduction than the former.
Companies that cannot obtain coverage in the mass market, such as those with greater risk or claim histories, use residual insurance.
