California is now giving residents up to $1,050 of ‘inflation relief’ — here’s who is eligible
To lessen the financial strain of the biggest U.S. inflation in the previous 41 years, the Golden State is issuing up to 23 million Californians "inflation relief" checks of up to $1,050 each.
California Governor Gavin Newsom, a Democrat, said in a statement on Thursday.
"We realise it's expensive right now, and California is putting money back into your pockets to help."
"We're giving out refunds totaling more than $1,000 to assist families pay for everything from groceries to petrol," the statement continued.
The state estimates that the government will give taxpayers a total of $9.5 billion.
